Cocoloko Beach Camp Resort
Travelers can stay in traditional round huts built out of local materials, or choose to stay in the bungalows. Either way, the Cocoloko Beach Camp Resort in Ghana offers comfort and the perfect place to relax. Located near the village of Totimekope, the resort offers visitors the chance to learn drumming or dancing, swim in the waters of the ocean or just relax and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
The resort offers many popular amenities, such as laundry and ironing services, television, private bathrooms, fridge, airport transfers, bar, dining room, room service and of course the incredible ocean view. The restaurant serves many traditional Ghanaian dishes as well as Continental meals, along with plenty of fresh fish. There is also a bar that offers a great place to relax with a few drinks.
All around the Cocoloko beach there are activities and sites to see. Every year in December, three species of sea turtles come to the shores to lay their eggs. Or, visitors can enjoy the many birds, some of which have migrated from other areas like Europe, North or South Africa, who decide to stay on the islands.
There are historical sites like the slave market of Totimekope, or Foangua as it used to be called, and the Fort Kontstern slave transit yard. A major salt production area, called the Songar Lagoon is nearby and is noted as a great place for bird watching.
